| Men Win with Few Turnovers |
The University of St. Thomas men’s basketball
team defeated Wiley College 71-66 on Dec. 13 in Jearbeck Activity and Athletic Center. Crashing the boards early and few turnovers helped the Celts overpower the Red River Athletic Conference opponent.
St. Thomas jumped in front in the first half to lead 31-27. Senior Caleb Williams scored the first 14 point of the game for UST. Wiley dominated the boards 50-26, but St. Thomas countered with only eight turnovers and shot 45 percent from the floor for the game.
Senior point guard Travis Lampley had another double-double with 12 points and 10 assists for the game. Junior Bryan Kaase contributed 13 points helped out on the glass. Sophomore Deric Dudley added 10 points.
The Celts will play Texas Wesleyan University at 4 p.m. on Dec. 15 on the road in Fort Worth, Texas.
