Menís Golf Team Welcomes Zach Cabra, Stephen Camilli
Zach Cabra, a 2011 graduate of McKinney-Boyd High School, signed a letter of intent to play golf for the University of St. Thomas Celt Golf Team. Cabra was a two-sport standout athlete in high school. He was both an All-District basketball player and golfer.

He qualified for three American Junior Golf Association events in 2010 and turned in an average score of 75.6. Cabra also fired rounds of 69-77 to lead his team to a third place finish at the 5A State Championship and carded an individual top 10, earning himself all state honors.

Cabra was also a standout student and community leader during his four years at McKinney-Boyd. He will Graduate with a 3.8 GPA and is a member of the National Honor Society.

“Zach is one of the most athletic golfers I have ever seen,” said UST Golf Coach Matt Luther. “He is a very raw golfer with a powerful swing and has almost unlimited potential to improve. Zach is the type of player that can help make our program competitive on the national level and I am very excited to see what he will achieve over the next 4 years.”

Austin High School graduate Stephen Camilli will also join the Celts Golf fall roster.

Camilli was a four- year member of the varsity golf team at Austin High School and was player of the year in the 2009 - 2010 season. He has competed in the Houston Golf Association and Texas Junior Golf Tour and will graduate high school with a 77.6 scoring average.

Camilli is an strong all-around athlete, having competed for the soccer team as well as the golf team in high school. Camilli will pursue a degree in bBiology at the University of St. Thomas. His father, Frank, is also part of the Celt family, having earned his MBA at St. Thomas.

“Stephen is good athlete and is growing as a golfer every year,” Luther said.
