Menís Golf finishes Fall competition

The Celts Golf Team finished its fall season at The Northwood University Fall Shootout on Monday and Tuesday.  A two-and-a-half-hour fog delay halted the event Monday morning, but play finally began at 11 a.m.  Players continued until dark on Monday and play resumed at daybreak Tuesday morning, continuing until nearly 2:30 p.m.  The Celts finished the third round in 12th place with scores of 312-313-310.  Sean Kennedy and Zach Cabra were the low Celt golfers, firing matching 15-over par 231’s and finishing in a tie for 44th place.  Ryan Lyons shot 75-78-81 to finish in a tie for 57th.  Jeff Swearingen shot rounds of 78-85-76 to total 239.  AJ Skiba battled a cold all week and managed to post a score of 247.

The tournament was won by conference rival Our Lady of The Lake University, who finished with scores of 296-292-293.  The Celts are finished with competition for the fall season and will resume play again in late February at the UT Brownsville spring invitational.
