Church globalization, Catholic social teaching, immigration, death penalty and abortion – all of these compelling contemporary issues in social justice will be examined at the University of St. Thomas’ Rev. William J. Young Social Justice Summer Conference from Thursday-Friday, June 9-10. Register online now to attend the conference at www.theyounginstitute.org.
This year’s conference commemorates 120 years of Catholic social teaching. Keynote speakers include Bishop Ricardo Ramirez, CSB, Bishop of Las Cruces, N.M., and Father Fred Kammer, S.J., Jesuit Social Research Institute at Loyola University. His Eminence Daniel Cardinal DiNardo will serve as the celebrant at the opening liturgy. Bishop Ramirez will give a Spanish version of his keynote address at 7:30 p.m. on June 9.
