The UST Music Department is pleased to announce that the Axiom Quartet has been named the Quartet-in-Residence. The ensemble members are delighted by this honor.

May 26, 2017  Cristo Rey Jesuit and UST Alumnus Comes Full Circle

Timothy Macalino was the first student from Cristo Rey Jesuit College Preparatory School of Houston to be accepted to the University of St. Thomas, in 2013. Now he’s thrilled to be one of the very first alumni of Cristo Rey Jesuit’s first class to graduate from college.

Erin Novak illustrates perfectly how the lens of spirituality can broaden one’s perspective. Through her studies in biology and theology, commitment to ecological restoration and spearheading of the native plant garden on campus, Erin brings a deeply thoughtful approach to her education and work. 

May 16, 2017  Sydney Keller Wins Her Case and a Spot in UTís Law School

Sydney Keller is getting ready to attend law school at UT in the fall! We hope her experience winning the Mock Trial competition with her teammates has provided a good foundation for her future studies and career. Staff in the Tutoring Center will miss Sydney – they describe her as an outstanding tutor on par with a teaching assistant.

May 16, 2017  Becky Armenta Heads to Music Graduate School for a Song

Becky Armenta will take the next step in her music education journey equipped with experience as a University Singers’ album vocalist and master training from renowned vocal experts. Thanks to her accomplishments at UST, she’ll be attending Baylor University on a full scholarship and stipend in the fall.

May 16, 2017  Katherine Glinka Prepares for Vocal Studies Act Two

Katherine Glinka views her singing as a way to express hope from a higher power. Through  participation in the University Singers, she’s developed her repertoire to feature early and sacred music. She’ll keep the tune going during her graduate studies at Westminster Choir College in the fall.

Megan Vaughan came from Colorado to find a welcoming home in Houston and at UST. With a full tuition scholarship, she’ll begin graduate school at Austin Peay State University in Tennessee in the fall.

May 16, 2017  Luisana Rivas Looks Forward to Vocal Masterís Program

Venezuela is a continent away, but international transfer student Luisana Rivas feels right at home in Houston. She appreciates the many performance opportunities UST gave her starting in freshman year, and credits classes on ethical thinking with making a real impact on her approach to life issues. With a full tuition scholarship for two years, Luisana will begin her master’s in voice performance  at Austin Peay State University in Tennessee in the fall.
