Compensation
The University of St. Thomas is committed to paying fair and equitable wages to all its employees. |
Annual salary raises
Employees hired prior to January 1 are eligible for a salary raise on July 1 of every year, based on the budget availability and board approval of the university salary plan. The specifics of the annual merit raise process are communicated to the staff and faculty in the spring of every year.
Employees hired after January 1 are not eligible for a raise until July 1 of the following year. |
Salary adjustments
All salaries are reviewed annually using either the College and University Personnel Association salary surveys or the Houston Compensation Association salary survey. Salaries that are found to be below the survey median for reasons other than poor performance are eligible for an automatic adjustment.
Such adjustments are awarded with priority given to those who fall farther from the median. |
Promotions and job reclassifications
Supervisors may submit requests for promotions or job reclassification as part of the annual budget process in January of every year. All staff and administrator promotions and reclassification must be submitted to the Human Resources Office together with an updated job description. The Human Resources Office will then issue a recommendation for salary increase. The final decision rests with the President or President’s Council.
Faculty members are eligible for automatic promotion increases as published in the Faculty compensation plan. |
