Registrar
The University of St. Thomas, a private Catholic university committed to the liberal arts and to the religious and intellectual tradition of Catholic higher education, is seeking an experienced professional to serve as Registrar. The University enrolls more than 3,000 students with more than 2,300 enrolled at its beautiful campus in Houston's Museum District.

The Registrar is also the Dean of Academic Records and he/she reports to the Vice President for Academic Affairs.  The Registrar is the chief administrator responsible for planning, managing, supervising, reporting, and advising on all activities related to academic records, conferral of degrees, on-line registration, classroom schedules, document imaging and related areas.  The Registrar plays a leadership role in policy planning and implementation as related to academic records creation, retention, management, and reporting. Additional functions include representing the academic records function on standing committees; advising on course planning and long-term scheduling; monitoring effectiveness of current data structures, reports, and procedures; and creating new systems in collaboration with computing staff, administrators, and appropriate faculty committees.

The Registrar is also the functional lead for the PeopleSoft 9.0 Student Records project and post-implementation maintenance, to include testing of PeopleSoft Student Records patches and fixes, and the training of faculty and staff on the PeopleSoft Student Records module.  The Registrar is also the functional lead for Ad Astra Scheduling software as well as other technical projects, such as imaging software package and SPEEDE electronic transcripts.

The ideal candidate will hold a Master's degree and at least seven (7) years of higher education experience with a minimum of five (5) years experience at the Assistant Registrar level or higher.  Candidates whose highest degree is a bachelor’s degree may be considered if they can demonstrate a sustained record of exceptional accomplishment and potential leadership.  The candidate must also embrace the mission of the University, possess strong interpersonal skills; a proven ability to manage staff effectively; the ability to interact productively with diverse constituencies; and knowledge of federal, state and institutional regulations related to a Registrar’s Office functions.  An expert knowledge of technology and student information systems used in higher education is required; hands-on experience with PeopleSoft is preferred.
