ASSISTANT DIRECTOR OF SCHOLARSHIPS AND FINANCIAL AID
The University of St. Thomas, a private university committed to the liberal arts and to the religious and intellectual tradition of Catholic higher education, is seeking an Assistant Director of Scholarships and Financial Aid.
This individual will report to the Dean of Scholarships and Financial Aid. She/he will assist with the administration of the Financial Aid module of the PeopleSoft system and the other various computer systems used within the office. She/he will also be responsible for the electronic transmission and receipt of information relating to various Financial Aid programs, the training of staff on the various computer systems, the supervision of staff and the distribution of information on various Financial Aid programs available to students. Additional duties and responsibilities will be reflected in the job description for this position.
This position require a Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of three years of financial aid experience (five years preferred), excellent interpersonal skills, demonstrated analytical skills, strong verbal and written communication skills, familiarity with MS Word, Excel, Access, Outlook and PowerPoint and the ability to contribute and promote a strong team environment. Instructional Design and Technology Specialist
The University of St. Thomas, a private university committed to the liberal arts and to the religious and intellectual tradition of Catholic higher education, is seeking a qualified professional to serve as a Instructional Design and Technology Specialist.
The Instructional Design and Technology Specialist reports to the Director of Technology Support Services. The Instructional Design and Technology Specialist provides detailed project lifecycle management for the development of online courses and associated instructional technologies. The specialist works directly with interdepartmental and management teams, SMEs, and curriculum specialists for development of fully online and hybrid courses as well as research and development of instructional technologies that support the distance education goals of the university.
This position is a 5 year grant funded position working directly with the School of Education for the development and deployment of an online M.Ed. and associated courses and technologies. The Specialist works with the course development team to identify and create courses and instructional technology supported projects (scenarios, real-world applications, problem-based learning). The successful candidate will possess the following skills and work experience:
• At a minimum, a bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design or equivalent program from an accredited university; master’s degree preferred.
• 3-5 years direct working experience with instructional design and related instructional technologies. Designing courses for education programs is a plus.
• Knowledge of current trends and theories for blended and fully online course design and technologies.
• Ability to read, write, and troubleshoot some HTML and CSS. Prefer some ability to read and write Javascript and SQL.
• Full lifecycle management and support for online course development projects. Demonstrate the ability to meet deadlines and course development/productivity goals that ensure technical and aesthetic quality.
• Direct experience with current and industry standard LMS. Prefer experience with Blackboard Academic Suite (classic). Ability to design, develop, troubleshoot, and support technology issues related to LMS and web technologies that support online courses.
• Training and/or teaching experience
This is a full-time, year round, benefit-eligible position.
A portfolio of recent work demonstrating knowledge and application of instructional design, learning theories, and current technologies is preferred.

Administrative Assistant II School of Education (SOE)
The University of St. Thomas, a private university committed to the liberal arts and to the religious and intellectual tradition of Catholic higher education, is seeking an experienced Administrative Assistant II for the School of Education.
This individual will report to the Dean of Education and to the Director of Curriculum Development of a Title V Grant. The ideal candidate will work with budget and reports related to the grant, assists faculty members with various tasks related to Title V responsibilities, assist other SOE staff with data entry and administrative duties and other duties as assigned by the Dean of the School of Education.
The position requires a minimum of a high-school degree and five years of experience as an administrative assistant or some college coursework and two years of professional experience. The best candidate will be proficient in Word and PowerPoint MS Office applications and able to operate office machines as well as have the ability to learn computer applications related to entering student data into the University’s database. Knowledge of Excel or other expense management software is required. Prior work experiences at another educational institution is a definite plus; excellent problem-solving, communication skills, spelling, grammar; and telephone skills; and a demonstrated sense of courtesy, tact and diplomacy. PeopleSoft is preferred.
This is a five year grant funded position that is full-time, year-round, and benefits eligible.
