|Initiative for University Excellence|
Dr. Robert Ivany, President of the University of St. Thomas, established the Initiative for University Excellence (IUE) in the Fall of 2013 as a “forum for dialogue between disciplines, departments, and schools” to promote university excellence.
IUE Mission: Pursuing excellence in teaching, scholarship, and service are hallmarks of the University of St. Thomas. In keeping with this commitment, the Initiative for University Excellence (IUE) was established to advance student success through collaborative efforts between faculty and staff. Under the guidance of the Office of Planning and Technology, the goal of the IUE is to build a more engaged campus community through shared efforts with all sectors of the University.
IUE Structure: Dr. Michele Simms (Director) and Ms. Denise Torres (Coordinator) direct Initiative programs and events in close consultation with the Office of Planning and Technology and faculty and staff constituencies. These include workshops, discussion groups, and consultation on faculty and staff development as they relate to student enrollment and retention and planning and strategy development. The IUE provides an annual action plan and reports to the Vice President of Planning and Technology.
