The following sites are sources for conferences, teaching-related journals and classroom strategies to help faculty create effective learning environments. 

The Professional and Organizational Development Network in Higher Education (POD), of which the Center is a member,  fosters human development in higher education through faculty, instructional, and organizational development. The site offers a number of programs, conferences and grant support in the area of faculty development http://www.podnetwork.org

The University of Northern Colorado Center for the Enhancement of Learning and Teaching supports faculty and staff professional development with multiple links for faculty/staff resources http://www.unco.edu/cetl/about/index.html Also check the online Chronicle of Higher Education at http://chronicle.com

American Association of Colleges and Universities (AAC&U) http://www.aacu-edu.org is the leading national association concerned with the quality of undergraduate liberal education.  The site provides conferences, articles and research on a variety of institutional and curricular planning needs with focus on student learning.  As a member, the Center has AAC&U publications available for faculty.

MERLOT is a leading edge, user-centered collection of peer reviewed and higher education online learning materials and faculty development support services http://www.merlot.org

National Academic Advising Association (NACADA) promotes and supports quality academic advising to enhance student development. The site provides programs, resources and services http://www.nacada.ksu.edu

The National Teaching and Learning Forum (NTLF) began as a joint venture with the ERIC Clearinghouse on Higher Education in 1991. The Forum addresses a wide-range of topics with in-depth attention to teaching and learning, including book previews and a newsletter available in the CFE Library. http://www.ntlf.com

Reference for the Development of Rubrics http://rubistar.4teachers.org Registration and use of the tools are free of charge.

The Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching is an independent policy and research center that supports the teaching profession and higher educational pursuits. Programs, publications and their journal Change are featured http://www.carnegiefoundation.org

International Alliance of Teacher Scholars hosts the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL) discussions and presentations. The Lilly conferences and the Journal on Excellence in College Teaching provide opportunities for research and publishing http://www.iats.com

The Active Learning Site supports scholarship of teaching by providing research-based resources.  Once in the site, the Active Learning Internet Links are a good source of ideas http://www.active-learning-site.com. (Site currently under construction)

The Campus Compact Reader is a no-cost, online journal focusing on service learning http://www.compact.org

The Teaching Professor offers information to help faculty teach more effectively. The university subscribes to the newsletter, which can be accessed through the library’s data base  http://www.teachingprofessor.com

Inside Higher Ed is an on-line source for news, jobs and opinions in higher education. Founded in 2004 by three executives with experience in higher education journalism and recruitment, the site provides “news”, “views” and “blogs” on current issues related to higher education in an accessible, user-friendly format http://www.insidehighered.com

CFE Library collection includes books, journals, newsletters, CDs and DVDs for faculty use.  The Library Resource list is posted on the CFE BlackBoard site.

Blackboard Faculty Success provides a community driven site for faculty. Focused on helping other Bb faculty from an instructor’s point of view, it contains useful tips and tricks for Building a Better Course and how to choose the best tools for you to use. The site includes an array of links to help find the best answer to any questions you might have about blackboard. http://bbbb.blackboard.com/LP=1712
