UST Commits to Boost Study Abroad
The University of St Thomas-Houston has pledged to join the Institute of International Education (IIE)’s Generation Study Abroad initiative to double the number of American students who study abroad by the end of the decade. The result will be thousands more American students graduating with the international experience necessary for success in a globalized world.
Eight UST students writing their senior thesis capstone papers in international studies and international development won over scholars during their panel presentations.
Exports are vital to the growth of the U.S economy, never more so than now in an internationally connected world. Richard Sindelar, assistant professor at the Center for International Studies, said in turn, economic growth promotes jobs and reduces unemployment.

University of St. Thomas Adjunct Professor of Music Marion Russell Dickson was selected as one of seven recipients of the National Association of Teachers of Singing 2014 Emerging Leader Award. Dickson will receive a $750 grant toward her attendance of NATS 53rd National Conference to be held in Boston from July 5-9, 2014.
