Pictures in Sound
Monday, December 3, 2012 7:30 PM to 9:00 PM
The UST Music Department is hosting “Pictures in Sound: Programmatic Music of the Baroque” at 7:30 p.m. in Cullen Hall.

The concert will include music by Biber, Rossi, Jenkins and Kuhnau. 

Performers are:
Noel Martin, Baroque Violin
Mimi Mitchell, Baroque Violin
Christina Edelen, Harpsichord

Violinist and UST Faculty member Noel Martin lives in Houston, Texas where he performs with a variety of ensembles, playing baroque violin with groups such as Mercury, Bach Soloists of Houston, Ars Lyrica, St Cecilia Baroque Orchestra of Austin, the Bach Society of San Antonio, and the Aquinas Ensemble. He is currently a member of the Houston Ballet Orchestra and has performed with many orchestras including the Houston Grand Opera Orchestra, Houston Chamber Orchestra, Maggini, Houston Symphony, San Antonio Symphony, and Orchestra X.

Mimi Mitchell and Christina Edelen regularly perform with a range of prominent ensembles, including The Amsterdam Baroque Orchestra, Anima Eterna, Currende, The Locke Consort, Brisk, de Amsterdamce Bachsolisten and the Concertgebouw Chamber Orchestra. They are members of Musica Bataviatrio, performing in the Netherlands, Germany and the United States, to great praise.
