“O Beauty ever ancient, ever new.” St. Augustine of Hippo – Confessions
Spend a week dedicated exclusively to Catholic School Music Teachers and Parish Children’s Choir Directors, learning the Church’s sacred choral and liturgical music tradition to hand on to the Catholic school child.
Work with two of the leading national Catholic children’s choir directors, Lee Gwozdz, Donna Kinsey, and other liturgical musicians, to
- Enhance your professional choral and teaching skills
- Broaden your sacred and liturgical music repertoire
- Deepen your understanding of the spirituality of the Church’s liturgical music
Participate in choral voice training sessions with Dr. Brady Knapp, Assistant Professor, Department of Music, Head of Vocal and Choral Studies, University of St. Thomas, to develop the harmony voice of the child and learn new repertoire.
Learn the basic techniques to teach the new English chant compositions of the liturgy and timeless Latin classics, directed by M. Jackson Osborn, chant choir master.
Deepen your understanding of the theology of singing the Liturgy, presented by Lowell A. Davis, M.Div.
Meet and share with others the special challenges and successes of teaching the sacred music tradition of the Church.
