UST Forms Department for Emergency Preparedness
As a result of the successful completion of the two-year Emergency Management for Higher Education grant last fall, UST established a new operating department: Emergency & Safety Services. The department’s strategic plan and program goals are below:
The mission of Emergency & Safety Services is to facilitate a comprehensive emergency management program at the University of St. Thomas. We are dedicated to providing a coordinated approach to natural or man-made emergency events.
Goal 1: Increase awareness and preparedness for students, parents,
faculty and staff
Goal 2: Emphasize an all-hazards approach to planning
Goal 3: Enhance capabilities for responding to and recovering from
Goal 4: Develop a strong emergency preparedness culture
Goal 5: Adapt to an ever changing environment
