CBE Celebrates with Mass for Commerce
11/5/2013

Mass for CommerceThe University of St. Thomas Cameron School of Business, in conjunction with the Center for Business Ethics, celebrated the third annual Mass for Commerce on Oct. 29 at the Chapel of St. Basil, in honor of the Center for Business Ethics’ 15 years of service.

The Mass for Commerce is an important occasion for exchange, encounter and relationship- tenets of business that complement the University’s mission of educating leaders of faith and character.

“The Mass is an opportunity to bring together and remind women and men of faith of all professions and at all levels of business of the necessity to incorporate their faith into their daily lives,” said Dr. Michele Simms, professor of Management. “Work represents a good for everyone.  We are stewards, not owners, who work together as persons of faith in building our world.”

Father Mike Buentello, CSB, celebrated the Mass this year for 45 people. Previous celebrants of the Mass included Cardinal Daniel DiNardo, archbishop of Galveston-Houston. The Mass is celebrated annually and is open to all faiths.
