Lady Celts Lose Seventh Consecutive Game

Gaby GuzmanThe University of St. Thomas women's basketball team lost to Texas College 73-51 on Saturday afternoon.

Freshman Ellie Bowers led the team in scoring with 11 points. Emily Sebo, Gaby Guzman and Brooklyn McCall added eight points each.

After a 5-4 start the Lady Celts have hit a seven game losing streak. However, the team remains undaunted.

“We can’t dwell on it,” said head coach Mike Ricks. “Right now we have to focus on improving every day. We play again today – if we spend too much time worrying about the past we won’t be prepared for the present. We will learn from it and move on.”
The next test for the Celts is a home game against Southwestern Assemblies of God University on Monday, Jan. 23 at 5:30 PM.
