Regina Trapp Named Conference Volleyball Player of the Week

Regina Trapp captured the Red River Athletic Conference (RRAC) Volleyball Player of the Week and Hitter of the Week awards for Sept. 26-Oct. 2. UST's Brittany Weiler earned recognition as the RRAC Setter of the Week.

Trapp, a sophomore outside hitter from Santa Fe, Texas, posted a .313 hitting percentage in a 3-1 stretch for the Lady Celts. She posted 27 kills twice, first in a 3-1 victory over Texas Wesleyan University and then in a 3-1 loss to SAGU. Trapp also had a match high of 16 digs in the SAGU match. For the week, she delivered 85 kills on 176 total attacks with 30 errors in addition to 50 digs. In its first year as an RRAC member, UST has a 2-1 conference mark and an 11-6 record overall.

Weiler, a junior setter from Deer Park, Texas, provided 176 assists in the Lady Celts' run last week including a whopping total of 60 against SAGU. She topped 45 in two other contests while averaging 12.6 assists per game. Weiler also added 37 digs to her team's cause.
