UST Ranks Among Best Colleges

Princeton Review - Best College in the WestThe University of St. Thomas was named a Best College in the West for 2013 by The Princeton Review in its annual college rankings. The Princeton Review recognizes colleges and universities that stand out within each region.

In the online profile, at, students were able to voice their opinions about UST’s campus culture and student body. One student commented on UST’s close-knit community.

“Having grown up attending large public schools, there’s something to be said for smaller schools, where you’re not treated like a number but a real person. Each of my professors, advisors, etc., knew me personally before the end of my first semester. They are truly concerned with making sure that you fully understand the material and are getting the most out of your academic experience.”

Another student commented on the inclusivity of the student body.

“We have commuters, homeschoolers, varsity players, introverts, perfectionists and clubbers, and they all interact quite well.”

St. Thomas is also a part of The Princeton Review “The Best 377 Colleges – 2013 Edition” Guidebook, which is based on 122,000 student surveys.

"Each of our 377 best colleges offers outstanding academics," said Robert Franek, the book's author and The Princeton Review senior vice president/publisher. "We don't rank them 1 to 377, because they differ widely in their program offerings and campus culture, and that is their strength. Instead, we tally lists of the top 20 schools in 62 categories based entirely on what students at these schools tell us about their campus experiences. Our goal is not to crown one college 'best' overall, but to help applicants find and get in to the college best for them."
