Concert Celebrates Celtic Christmas Customs
Irish balladeer duo The Celtic Sons – Danny O’Flaherty and Noel Nash – share their heritage through music, song, dance and storytelling at the sixth annual Celtic Christmas Concert. The concert will be held at 2 p.m. on Dec. 8 at the University of St. Thomas Jones Hall, 3910 Yoakum Blvd.
O’Flaherty and Nash will celebrate the customs of Christmas in Ireland, Wales, Scotland and other Celtic areas.
O’Flaherty has performed at UST numerous times since his first performance in 2006. Nash performed with O’Flaherty at the 2012 Celtic Christmas Carols event.
“Each year the Christmas performance is a little different, but features songs and stories from many of the Celtic nations and regions,” said Lori Gallagher, director of the Center for Irish Studies.
The concert is sponsored by the William J. Flynn Center for Irish Studies Cultural Outreach Forum and The Irish Society.
Admission is free to UST staff, faculty, students, religious and clergy, children under the age of 12 and other students with a valid student ID. Adult tickets are $15, and senior tickets are $10. Purchase Tickets.
