UST Celebrates a Year of Leadership
6/25/2007
Dr, Ivany and Rob MitchellThe fifth annual leadership banquet, “Time after Time,” was held Sunday, April 29 in Jerabeck Center to celebrate a year of student leadership and achievement. This year’s Presidential award went to Roy Mitchell, senior political science major; and Meris Chaumont, junior theology major, received the Martha A. Wooldridge Citizenship Award.

Angie Montelongo, assistant director of Student Activities, and her campus life team planned this spring event, which recognized club and student performance throughout the year. “This year’s banquet had more than 150 people in attendance,” said Montelongo. “It continues to grow as an important event to UST because it is an opportunity to recognize and thank our student leaders who work so hard to create a positive atmosphere on campus. Many parents and family members were able to join us this year and it was great to see the joy and pride they had in their students. The banquet is also a small way for us to thank UST parents for sharing their students with us,” said Montelongo.

Recipients were nominated by their peers, faculty and staff and were reviewed by a special selection committee. Also recognized at the ceremony were the presidents of UST academic clubs, student organizations, sports clubs, and residence life staff.

The 2006-2007 awards:
Who’s Who Students –Students are nominated by a faculty or staff member to be a representative of the Who’s Who Among Students organization. Students must write a one-page statement summarizing their involvement on campus and why they would make a good representative.
