University of St. Thomas junior Casey Mulryan, a middle blocker for the Lady Celts volleyball team, was named NAIA Association of Independent Institutions Female Athlete of the Week, for the week ending Sept. 7, 2009.

Mulryan led her St. Thomas team to a 4-1 record during the week, including three 3-0 victories. During the week, Mulryan accumulated 55 kills, averaging 3.44 per game, and posted hitting efficiencies of 63 percent, 43 percent, 25 percent, 87 percent and 58 percent over five matches.

The Lady Celts current record is 4-2. The Lady Celts will play:
• Texas A&M Kingsville, 7 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 10 at UST Jerabeck
• Southwestern Assemblies of God, 11 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 12 at SAGU.
• Oklahoma Wesleyan, 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 12 at SAGU
• Our Lady of the Lake University, 7 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 16 at UST Jerabeck.
