Sarah Curiel-Thompson Named AII Female Athlete of the Week

 University of St. Thomas junior Sarah Curiel-Thompson, a setter for the Lady Celts volleyball team, was named NAIA Association of Independent Institutions Female Athlete of the Week, for the week ending Sept. 28, 2009.
Curiel-Thompson led her St. Thomas’ volleyball teammates to a 3-1 victory over the University of Dallas the weekend of Sept. 26. Curiel-Thompson posted 22 assists in the win, while adding 11 digs and five aces to ensure the victory.
As a sophomore setter, Curiel-Thompson led the Lady Celts as Assists Leader and Co-Offensive Player of the Year. She was also named A.I.I. 2008 First Team All-Conference during the A.I.I. Conference Championship in Arizona.
Curiel-Thompson is a graduate of Incarnate Word High School in San Antonio.
