2010-2011 Undergraduate Catalog Available Online, in Bookstore
5/5/2009
The Undergraduate Catalog is UST’s most complex and perhaps most important document because of its wealth of information on admissions policy, financial aid, student organizations and services, academic advising, and all the pertinent academic policies and regulations for all the majors, minors, and degree programs in the Schools of Arts and Sciences, Cameron School of Business, and Education, complete with a list of all courses and their descriptions in effect at the time of publication of the Catalog.

As of May 5, the Undergraduate Catalog will be sold at the UST Bookstore for $1, and is available online at www.stthom.edu/undergradcatalog.

Students are responsible for keeping their own academic records and for knowing the policies that apply to all students as well as those for their individual program of studies. As the Catalog states on this subject, “The ultimate responsibility for the student’s academic program and orderly progress through the University curriculum rests with the student. If anyone advises a student contrary to the University’s stated policies and regulations, the student should consult the dean of the school involved or the Registrar” (p. 61). The Academic Advising Office maintains current information on programs and courses to assist students in fulfilling their responsibility.

The University reserves the right to make necessary changes at any time to the Undergraduate Catalog and can do so online, consistent with its being primarily a Web-based document and with the statement on page 4. The ability to intervene is especially helpful for making corrections and adding information about new programs or important changes to existing ones. Nevertheless, the Undergraduate Catalog remains effectively static concerning requirements for the bachelor’s degree because students will normally follow the requirements of the Undergraduate Catalog in effect when they matriculate to the University.

The Academic Affairs Office is responsible for producing the Catalog. It requires extensive participation of all three schools offering undergraduate degrees and the cooperation of practically every office on campus. The people from Academic Affairs, the Registrar’s Office, and the Office of Publications who worked on the text and the design for this project are listed on the final page. They are last but above all not least.
