UST to Host Post-911 GI Bill Education Benefit Seminar
6/18/2009
The University of St. Thomas will host free a GI Bill information seminar for any veteran who wishes to learn more about the new Chapter 33 Post 9-11 Bill education benefit, and how it applies to private colleges. This seminar will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, July 29 in Jones Hall, 3910 Yoakum Blvd., on the UST campus.
Veterans from in and around the Houston area, who want to earn a college education, can learn more about Post 9-11 Educational Assistance from UST’s Veteran Services Director. They can also learn how these benefits may cover full tuition at University of St. Thomas.
Veterans can also talk to a member of the UST Admissions and Financial Aid staff. A representative from the Veteran Affairs Office will be on hand to answer any questions or concerns.
University of St. Thomas is Houston’s only Catholic university, founded by the Basilian Fathers, and is committed to making a quality private liberal arts education accessible and affordable. UST is located in the heart of Houston.
Small classes with a student to faculty ratio of 12-1 provide an excellent atmosphere for veterans to meet and interact with new peers and build new relationships. With an enrollment of about 3,000 students, veterans can choose from 31 undergraduate degrees, nine graduate degrees and nine pre-professional programs.
For more information, call Shannon Wilson, University of St. Thomas Director of Veteran Services at 713-942-3409. To register for the seminar, go to http://www.stthom.edu/veteranevents
Parking is available for $2 in the Moran Center Garage, located at Graustark and West Alabama.
