BSU Hosts Crawfish Boil April 23

 Prepare to get messy. Bring your bib and hand wipes, but leave your fork and knife at home. The UST Black Student Union is stirring up the fiery flavors of the bayou as it hosts the annual Crawfish Boil from 6:30 to 10 p.m., Friday, April 23 on the Crooker Patio. The event will feature a DJ playing Zydeco music, dancers from Profusion Performing Arts and other local performers.
Purchase raffle tickets for $1 to win items such as Astros tickets, gift cards and an Ipod shuffle. Tickets are $5 in advance and $7 at the door. Tickets will be on sale on the Academic Seal from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. April 19-23. The event is open to the public.
A favorite event among students, facutly and staff, the Crawfish Boil raises funds for future BSU events. BSU is an organization targeted for black students at the University who comprise8 percent of the school's student enrollment. Since 1992, BSU has promoted diversity and raised awareness of the African-American culture through lectures and various events and fundraisers. BSU welcomes diversity and encourages all students to join.
