9/24/2010
The University of St. Thomas Psychology Department will host two career nights from 6-8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 28 and Wednesday, Oct. 6 in Anderson Hall, Room 103. Psychology professionals from the community will speak about their occupations, educational backgrounds and career opportunities in their fields.

“Learning in classes is important,” UST student Catalina Zapiola said, “but listening to people who apply those theories and concepts in their daily work has helped me appreciate the many interesting career choices that psychology has to offer even more.”

Psychology career nights are designed to provide guidance and advice for undergraduate students planning their post-graduate careers. Many students have benefited from previous events.

“My experience at Careers in Psychology Night spurred my interest in cognitive and behavioral treatment modalities,” UST student Melissa Binstock said.

• Kelly Penrod, LCDC, of The Right Step, alcohol and drug rehabilitation
• Brent LoCaste-Wilken, LDSW, social work
