Lady Celts Fall Short Against Paul Quinn College
The University of St. Thomas women’s basketball team lost to Paul Quinn College Monday afternoon 59-48.
The Lady Celts struggled to find the range, making just 20 out of 74 shots. Ellie Bowers led the team with 13 points, a season high.
“We really struggled shooting the ball today,” said head coach Mike Ricks. “Still we had success in a lot of other areas that we have been struggling in. We had 21 offensive rebounds and we only turned it over 12 times. I have no doubt that we will shoot the ball better. If we continue to rebound and take care of the basketball we will find ourselves winning more games than we lose.”
The Lady Celts are now 5-10 overall and 3-7 in the Red River Athletic Conference. They will travel to play Texas College this Saturday at 2:00 PM and return home for a 5:30 PM game on Monday, Jan. 23 against Southwestern Assemblies of God University.
