2/13/2012
Photo: The Get Real Barbie ProjectOn February 23 at the Campus Health Fair the UST Center for Counseling and Disability Services will hold the “Get Real Barbie” project showcasing a life size image of Barbie on butcher paper. Students will have the opportunity to trace and decorate their own outline to be displayed along the walkway between Malloy and Robertson.

The “Get Real Barbie” campaign was created to raise awareness of eating disorders and the effect popular images have on our self-perception. The aim of National Eating Disorders Awareness week is to create awareness of eating disorders and body image issues and improve access to treatment.

The event will take place from 11 a.m. - 3 p.m. on February 23 at Crooker Patio. The outlines will be displayed during National Eating Disorders Awareness Week from February 27 to March 2. For more information, contact Counseling and Disability Services at 713-525-2169 or shannoj@stthom.edu.
