Prayer Service to Support Fortnight for Freedom
6/26/2012
Graphic: Fortnight for FreedomThe University of St. Thomas will join in the national Fortnight for Freedom events with a Prayer Service at 7:30 p.m. on Sunday, July 1 in the Chapel of St. Basil.

The U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops has designated the 14 days from June 21 to July 4 as the Fortnight for Freedom, for prayer, study, catechesis and public action to emphasize both our Christian and American heritage of liberty. Dioceses and parishes around the country have scheduled special events that support a national campaign of teaching and witness for religious liberty.

The Rev. Joseph Pilsner, CSB, will lead UST’s prayer service, which will include a rosary and prayer in union with Catholics and Christians throughout the country for religious freedom.

For more informationabout the Catholic Church’s position and concern about religious freedom, see the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston website or contact Campus Ministry at campusminstry@stthom.edu for resources.
