UST Hosts First-Ever Houston Arts Fair
Artists, musicians and craftsmen, will visit the University of St. Thomas, for the premier of the Houston Arts Resource Fair from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, July 28 in Jones Hall, 3910 Yoakum Blvd., on campus. Dr. Robert Ivany, president of St. Thomas, will welcome participants to begin the day.
The Houston Arts Resource Fair has signed up more than 350 registrants at this sold out event. All those interested in dance, visual, performing arts, theatre, film, music and other areas of the arts will attend this networking-educational collaboration with the mission to help artists seeking professional advice and programs for their crafts.
Modeled after Expo Chicago, the fair is the collaboration of seven local arts service organizations, and it will educate attendees in professional development opportunities, including arts funding, housing, arts marketing, audience development and growth, health insurance/services, and business resources. The Houston Arts Resource Fair will feature national industry experts from Fractured Atlas, Alvin Ailey Dance Company and Houston Endowment, along with other innovators in the fields of fundraising, marketing and healthcare.
