University of St. Thomas volleyball player Stephanie Biediger was named Hitter of the Week, for the week of Sept. 17-23, by the Red River Athletic Conference.

Biediger, a senior right-side hitter from Houston, compiled an attack percentage of .396 in a 2-1 week for the Celts. She delivered 20 of her 48 kills in a 3-0 sweep of Texas College, and she committed just 10 errors in 96 attacks. Biediger averaged 5.3 kills per game for the week as UST improved to a record of 11-8.

"I'm really excited about the improvements we make on the court with each game we play,” Biediger said. “Our goal of competing in the playoffs becomes more and more likely every day. I would never have been able to achieve this honor without the hard work and success of my teammates."
