The University of St. Thomas
women's basketball team won its fourth consecutive game on Jan. 8. The Celts beat conference opponent Huston-Tillotson University 70-62.
Amber Arceneaux-Francis led three Celts in double figures with 28 points and 12 rebounds.
Gaby Guzman had 14 points while
Maghen Lormand shot for 10.
"Amber has been playing some very good basketball," said
Head Coach Mike Ricks. "This was a great team win though. We were down in the second half, and we had to stick together and grind it out."
The Celts travel to Oklahoma on Jan. 9 for a Jan. 10 matchup with Langston University. Langston is currently ranked sixth in the
Red River Athletic Conference, right behind UST. Ricks said the Celts will have be prepared if they want to keep the winning streak alive.
"Langston is the defending conference champion and their gym is one of the toughest places to play in the league,” Ricks said. “We had better be ready to play."
The game will be broadcast live on
