SAGU Defense Too Much for MBB

The game was a defensive battle from the tipoff. No team led by more than 4 points in the first half, and the game was tied up at 23 going into halftime. The Celts could not contain the Lions, and their five-game win streak came to an end.
Senior Travis Lampley led the Celts with 14 points and nine assists. Bryan Kaase and Caleb Williams both finished with 12 points and 10 rebounds. SAGU won the rebounding battle 47-42 and had 16 offensive rebounds.
St. Thomas is 18-6 on the season and 13-5 in the Red River. Next home game for the Celts is on Feb. 23 versus Louisiana State University-Shreveport. LSU-Shreveport is currently ranked second in the NAIA above UST.
Before coming home, the Celts will hit the road for four road games. The team will play Northwood University at 7 p.m. on Feb. 11 in Cedar Hill, Texas.
