Roberto Gonzalez, a University of St. Thomas finance, marketing and French major, was recently awarded a $5,000 scholarship from the British American Foundation of Texas.

The foundation presented Gonzalez with an award certificate at a ceremony at the Federal Reserve Building on May 14.

Gonzalez, who will be a senior next year, was born in Mexico City, and grew up in Houston. He said he found out about the scholarship through an e-mail from the Center for International Studies, and was eager to apply.

Gonzalez plans to pursue a Master of Business Administration at the University of St. Thomas. He speaks Spanish, English and French and hopes to work in Europe.
