Augustine Without Walls Opens Events to Entire UST Community
10/20/2009
Despite the demolition of the apartments that housed the Augustine Living-Learning Community, the Augustine programming which integrates faith, academics and life will continue as Augustine Without Walls. Activities are now open to all members of the UST community.
Friday afternoon “coffee houses” will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. in the Augustine Room of Clare Hall, 1210 Colquitt. These coffee houses will be a regular "stop-in" opportunity for all students, faculty, and staff – a casual place to get together, share the homemade "treat of the week," and engage in friendly chat
and interesting discussions.
Faculty, students, and staff can mix informally, get to know one another, and discuss aspects of our academics, faith and life together.
Augustine Without Walls will also host monthly activities open to any UST community member on a first-come, first-served basis. On Saturday, Oct. 24, the group will visit the Holocaust Museum’s exhibit on Pope John Paul II’s relationship to the Jewish People. On Friday, Oct. 30, join the group for a coffee house and movie night about Pope John Paul, followed by pizza. On Thursday, Nov. 13, request free tickets to the Houston
Symphony in Jones Hall while supplies last. The group will take an environmental excursion to Brazos Bend for Mission Challenger and stargazing on Nov. 14; and Sunday, Dec. 6, they will host a St. Nick's Mass and brunch.
E-mail millerp@stthom.edu to sign up for events.
