Pray for Former UST Guest Speaker Detained in Zimbabwe

 On Oct. 9, 2007, Mr. Morgan Tsvangirai and Mr. Roy Bennett spoke to the University community on the deteriorating conditions in Zimbabwe. Their talk entitled, “Walk with Me: The Struggle for Freedom and Hope in Zimbabwe" opened our eyes to the current political and social crisis in Zimbabwe.
Many of us have followed the recent political progress surrounding the shared power arrangement between the present dictator of Zimbabwe, Robert Mugabe and Mr. Tsvangirai. Recently Roy Bennett was invited to return to the country to serve as Deputy Minister for Agriculture. However, Mr. Bennett was detained at Charles Prince Airport and imprisoned.
 Mr. Bennett and Mr. Tsvangirai became known to the University community through their presentation on campus.We ask that you please keep these gentlemen and their families in your thoughts and prayers as they struggle to improve conditions for the people of Zimbabwe.
