UST Publications Earn Nationwide Recognition
4/2/2009
Publications produced in 2008 by the University of St. Thomas Office of Marketing Communications earned nationwide recognition in the 24th Annual Admissions Advertising Awards sponsored by the Higher Education Marketing Report.
The Star View newsletter earned the gold award in the internal publications category for schools with an enrollment between 2,000-4,999 students. The Shining Star Newsletter earned the bronze award in the newsletter category for schools with an enrollment between 2,000 and 4,000 students.
The Admissions Advertising Awards is the largest educational advertising awards competition in the country. This year, more than 2,000 entries were received from more than 1,000 colleges, universities and secondary schools from all 50 states and several foreign countries.
“The Publications and Communications staff has done an excellent job of telling the St. Thomas story,” said Vickie Alleman, vice president of marketing communications and enrollment management. “It’s a great testimony to their skills and creative talent to receive a national award for these newsletters."
Publications and Communications staff include: Marionette Mitchell, director of publications; Sandra Soliz, director of communications; Elise Marrion, writer/editor; Ronnie Piper, communications associate and Chris Zeglin, publications designer.
Judges for the Admissions Advertising Awards consisted of a national panel of admissions’ marketers, advertising creative directors, marketing and advertising professionals and the editorial board of the Higher Education Marketing Report.
