Soccer Wins Season Opener in Oklahoma

 The UST Men’s Soccer team won 3-2 in double overtime against Oklahoma Christian University in the season opener, Friday, August 27. St. Thomas’ Efrain Orozco scored the first goal late in first half. With minutes left in second half, Shane Rojas sent one into the net to tie the score at 2-2 and sent the game into overtime. In the second overtime period, Jad El-Masri scored the final goal of the game, leaving the Celts the victors with a 3-2 decision.
The Celts defeated Southern Nazarene 2-1 on Saturday, August 28 in Bethany, Oklahoma. Efrain Orozco found the back of the net in the 12th minute for the Celts. Junior Rafael Bustos struck the game winner in the 56th minute. The Celts are 2-0 to start the season.
The team will play their home opener on Friday, Sept. 3 at Awty International School, We are going to play this Friday at 5 PM at Awty International School, 7455 Awty School Lane. They will also play UST- Brownsville
