Lady Celts Post 2-3 Record for the Week

The Lady Celts volleyball team posted a 2-3 record the week of Sept. 27-Oct. 3. The week started out with a 3-0 win at home against Huston-Tillotson at home on Tuesday, Sept. 28. Casey Mulryan led the way with 9 kills. On Thursday, Sept. 30, the Lady Celts welcomed No. 5 ranked UT-Brownsville. The Lady Celts fought hard but lost 3-0. Casey Mulryan and Mallory Wendel led the team with 6 kills each.
On Friday, Oct. 1, the team hit the road for a tournament in New Orleans at Loyola University. The Lady Celts opened the tournament with a 3-0 loss to Loyola. Senior Middles Casey Mulryan and Mallory Wendel led the way once again with 10 and 8 kills respectively. The second match saw the Celts go down to Spring Hill 3-1. Lauren Poe stepped up to post a match high 11 Kills. On Saturday, the Lady Celts finished off the tournament and a long week with a 3-0 victory over Xavier. Casey Mulryan and Kinzie Van Voorst posted double digit kills.
The Lady Celts will ditch their red and gold uniforms for pink at their Annual Dig Pink Game against Dallas Christian University at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 20. Fans can also support breast cancer awareness and the Lady Celts by wearing pink in the stands. The Oct. 23 game versus Southwestern Assemblies of God will be honor players in their senior year.
