12/8/2010

The event was announced in the weekend edition of the Houston Chronicle, attracted about 40 listeners, who asked lively questions and had their copies of the book autographed.

Published by Palgrave Macmillan, Third World Citizens and the Information Technology Revolution shows that even the Internet – one of the most interactive technologies of the modern era – has deeply disempowering implications. The book aims to raise awareness that people from poor countries need a greater say in the decisions that shape their lives.

Since its inception in 1974, Brazos Bookstore has hosted hundreds of authors, including such luminaries as President Jimmy Carter, Kofi Annan, Isabel Allende, and Salman Rushdie.
