"To Save a Thousand Souls" Author Speaks on Vocational Discernment
4/29/2011
The University of St. Thomas and the Serra Club of Houston will present, “To Set the World on Fire,” a lecture by Father Brett A. Brannen, author of To Save a Thousand Souls. The event will be held at 7:30 p.m., Friday, June 17, on the UST campus, Jones Hall, 3910 Yoakum.

St. Catherine of Siena said, “If you are what you should be, you will set the world on fire.” Fr. Brannen is setting the world on fire with his new book, To Save a Thousand Souls. Many young men and women discerning their vocation for the priesthood or for religious life have found Fr. Brannen’s book invaluable.

From his years of experience as a seminarian, priest, vocation director and seminary vice-rector, Fr. Brannen shares his rare insight into vocational discernment, seminary life and the priesthood in our modern world. This lecture is a gift to someone faced with the difficult issue of discerning their vocation.

Thanks to the generosity of the Serra Club of Houston a number of copies of To Save a Thousand Souls will be available on a first- come, first -served basis to lecture participants.

The event is free and open to the public. Parking is available for $2 in the Moran Center, Graustark and W. Alabama.
