Dr. Roger Morefield Awarded Teaching Fellowship in Germany

 Dr. Roger Morefield, University of St. Thomas associate professor of economics and finance, has been awarded a summer 2011 teaching fellowship in Germany at Hochschule München (Munich University of Applied Sciences).
Starting May 24, he will teach two masters-level international economics and managerial economics classes in the School of Precision and Micro Technology/ Engineering Physics. The courses will be taught in English, with 25-35 students per class.
Morefield has taught international and managerial economics at the MBA level at UST for over 30 years.
“I am well-versed in the content of both courses,” said Morefield. “The interesting challenge for me is to adapt these courses to the needs of students in Germany who are working on their Master’s degrees in an engineering specialty and it is a challenge that I embrace and enjoy.”
Morefield received his bachelor’s degree in business and economics from the University of Alabama in Birmingham and his master’s and doctorate in economics from Duke University. He taught at Houston Baptist University and at Lamar University before coming to UST where he has been teaching economics and finance since 1980.
