Madeline Ali Signs with Lady Celts Basketball Team

 Madeline Ali signed a letter of intent to play for the University of St. Thomas women’s basketball team for the 2011-2012 season on May 31. Ali was a “do it all player” for a very successful program and Dekaney High School in Houston. During the Taco Bell Invitational Tournament she was named tournament MVP.
“Maddy learned the fundamentals of the game extremely well and is a tremendous passer,” said Mike Ricks, women’s basketball coach. “I truly believe she will flourish for us and will contribute right away as a freshmen.”
Ali, who plans to major in business, said “I’m really excited about starting a tradition here at UST. I was part of the first girl’s basketball team at Dekaney so it’s really awesome to continue on and be a part of the first UST girls basketball program. That’s really special.”
