
The University of St. Thomas
men’s golf team competed in its final event of the fall on Oct. 29-30. The Northwood Fall Shootout was held at Tangle Ridge Golf Course in Dallas, Texas, and featured a very strong
National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics field with nine of the Top-25 teams in the country teeing it up.
The most promising statistic was the Celts improved on their performance at last year’s Northwood Fall Shootout by 44 shots. The Celts shot rounds of 303-295-293 to finish 13
th.
Zach Cabra continued his stellar play by finishing tied for fourth place with rounds of 69-71-71.

Matt Luther said he is very pleased with the team’s performance.
“We made some simple mistakes that cost us an opportunity to really do something special this week, but just being in that position is a huge improvement for us,” Luther said. “Our two freshmen have made an immediate impact and sophomore Zach Cabra has stepped up his game to become one of the strongest players in the country. I think we can build on our success this fall and be in a position to earn a berth in the national tournament in the spring.”
