Four VB Players Honored as Scholars

Photo: Brittany WeilerThe National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics announced four University of St. Thomas volleyball players as 2012 Daktronics-NAIA Scholar Athletes. Among the 408 volleyball student-athletes, Stephanie Biediger, Monica Litle, Kelsey Balderamos and Brittany Weiler made the cut.

“I am very proud of these young ladies,” Volleyball Head Coach Kallie Noble said. “They not only work hard on the court but also in the classroom.”

Photo: Volleyball TeamAn institution's head coach or sports information director nominated candidates. A student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale and must have achieved a junior academic status to qualify for this honor.

St. Thomas finished up the season at 19-17 and was the runner up in the Red River Athletic Conference Tournament. UST lost in the opening round of the 2012 NAIA Volleyball National Championship Tournament.
