The University of St. Thomas
women's basketball team got off to a slow start on Feb. 21 en route to a 74-61 loss at Huston-Tillotson University.
Amber Arceneaux-Francis led the Celts with 21 points and nine rebounds while
Maghen Lormand added 16 points.
The Celts have two games left before the start of the Red River Athletic Conference Tournament on March 1. Ricks knows his team has a lot of work to do before then if they want to have postseason success.
"There are a lot of things we need to work on, but, first and foremost, we have to start better," Ricks said. "Getting the team ready to play is my responsibility. We will be ready to play Saturday."
The Celts are now 11-9 in the RRAC and 15-13 overall. The last home game of the year is on Feb. 23 versus Louisiana State University-Shreveport. As a part of
Homecoming weekend, seniors Arceneaux-Francis,
Hershiira Boone-Rodgers and
Alyssa Kain will be honored before the game at 2 p.m.
