The University of St. Thomas men’s soccer team was defeated at home 1-2 by the University of Houston – Victoria on Sept. 7.

The Celts were down 0-1 at halftime after missing a penalty kick late in the first half. In the 75^th minute, Jamie Head scored off an assist from Delano Foster to tie the match 1-1. Late in the second half, senior Gonzalo Nemi picked up two yellow cards, which put UST to 10 men for the remainder of the match. In the 84^th minute, UHV scored the game winner.

Next up for the team is William Carey University at 6 p.m. on Sept. 15 at home at Houston Amateur Sports Park, 12131 Kirby Drive.
