Soccer Falls in Close Match
Photo: SoccerThe University of St. Thomas men's soccer team lost a close game to the University of Texas-Brownsville 2-3 on Sept. 20.

UST sophomore Delano Foster scored the first goal of the game in the 37th minute on an assist from freshman Chris Natera. Five minutes later, the Scorpions evened out the game.  In the 44th minute, Natera put the Celts ahead jumping on a mistake by the UT-Brownsville goalkeeper. UST did not hold on to the lead for long because UT-Brownsville was awarded a penalty kick with no time left to finish the first half in a 2-2 tie.

Both teams battled hard in the second half and stayed level at 2-2 until, in the 85th minute, UT-Brownsville hit the game winner.
