WBB Falls to San Jac in Scrimmage
10/25/2012
The University of St. Thomas women’s basketball team lost a hard-fought scrimmage 76-69 to San Jacinto College on Oct. 24. The game had many lead changes and the Celts learned a lot, but the team failed to come out on top.
“It was nice to finally play against someone other than ourselves,” said Head Coach Mike Ricks. “Any time you miss 48 shots, you probably aren’t going to win, and we were still right there against a good San Jac team. Obviously we aren’t happy about the loss but we are pleased with the effort. We also have a pretty good idea of what we need to work on before our season opener next week.”
Next week, Nov. 2-3, the Celts travel to Espanola, N.M., where they will play games against Arizona Christian University and Northern New Mexico College in the Santa Claran Classic.
“We are looking forward to the trip,” Ricks said. “Tomorrow we will get to work fixing the things we need to fix so we can have a different result in New Mexico.”
