The University of St. Thomas women's basketball team hit the road once again to challenge third-ranked Louisiana State University-Shreveport at 5:30 p.m. on Jan. 24 in Shreveport, La. The fifth-ranked Celts are trying to close out their five-game road trip with a win.

The University of St. Thomas men’s basketball team is holding steady with a five-game win streak. The Celts beat Jarvis Christian College, 69-65, on Jan. 21, which improves their record to 8-3 in the Red River Athletic Conference and 13-4 overall.

Amber Arceneaux-Francis followed up last week's Red River Athletic Conference Player of the Week award by winning it again for the week of Jan. 7-13. This is the third time this season Arceneaux-Francis has beat out the competition to win the award.

The University of St. Thomas will host three events to underscore the range of Catholic culture and intellectual life through a thoughtful and reflective encounter with rock music, the Synod of Bishops and St. Thomas Aquinas. The events are free and open to the public on Jan. 23-24.

The University of St. Thomas women's basketball team will travel to Dallas Christian College on Jan. 15 for a non-conference game. The Celts are using the matchup as an opportunity to correct some of the mistakes made when their four-game winning streak was snapped on Jan. 10 in a 75-70 loss at Langston University.

The University of St. Thomas men’s basketball team made quick work of Paul Quinn College on Jan. 14. The Celts jumped out to a 43-21 halftime lead and kept up the pressure to win 89-48.

The University of St. Thomas women's basketball team picked up a road win knocking off Dallas Christian College 74-53 on Jan. 15. This is UST’s fifth win of the last six games.
